We've Been Training For This: JDXpert's New Learning Initiative

​Here at JDXpert we strive to make the process of managing your job descriptions as pain-free as possible. However, when a tool is as robust ours, it can take some time and effort to familiarize yourself with the system. Our goal has always been to provide our customers with the information and assistance needed to get them not only comfortable with using JDXpert, but also to show them how they can use the tool to its fullest potential. In addition to our knowledgeable support staff, we give our customers access to an extensive KnowledgeBase that includes articles written in a step-by-step format, training guides tailored by role, as well as instructor-led live training. 
The introduction of our monthly instructor-led training courses contributed greatly to our Learning Program. They were administered to only a handful of customers at a time to provide them with the best learning experience possible.  The sessions took a hands-on approach where trainees were encouraged to follow along in an individual training site designed for them as the instructor lead them through a structured lesson plan. Although this format of training proved valuable, and was well-received by our customers, it could not be sustained at the capacity demanded as the company grew. Often booked months in advance and class size increasing dramatically, JDXpert had to consider supplementing these live sessions with another form of training.  So, in late 2019 we began following our own advice and looked to technology to provide us, and more importantly our customers, with a training format more suitable for a growing company.

We knew that we needed to maintain the same level of training our customers came to expect from JDXpert but offer customers a self-paced option that would allow for immediate access. So, we began offering customers the option of accessing our most in-depth training courses through an online Learning Management System (LMS). Although we expected many of our customers to like this option, we did not realize how successful it would turn out to be. Because of its overwhelmingly positive reception, we made the decision to move away from live- training and towards an entirely online, self-paced format. The use of an LMS allows us to distribute training courses that are not only structured and easy-to-follow but because it’s online, our customers can take the training at their own pace and according to their own schedules.

One of the most exciting benefits of using the LMS is that we are no longer limited to the number of students per classroom, as each student is able to take the training at their convenience. Other advantages include:
  • Each student has their own portal that monitors their progress along the way. This offers them the opportunity to see what modules have been completed and which are yet to be accessed.
  • Instead of three (or nine) hours of training all in one sitting, lessons have been broken down into manageable segments. This allows trainees to fit training into their own schedule.
  • Unlike live training where class-sizes were limited, organizations can now offer training to as many individuals as they choose. This is especially helpful when new people are added to the job management team.
  • Clients are provided their own training site and can use their own implementation to take the training, which can be invaluable when learning the system.
  • Training modules are consistently updated and refined as the system expands or features are added.
  • This method of deployment allows us to quickly distribute updated training materials to all trainees instead of only to a small subset of users during a live session.
  • Organizations now have the option of distributing training to managers via our custom manager’s training course. By utilizing the LMS, you can now engage managers at a much lesser cost than our onsite training previously allowed.
